In progress

I have been working on a few blocks today for a new starburst quilt.  I always seem to gravitate toward bright bold colors against white.

I haven’t been one to run out and buy new fabric when the new lines come outIt’s not that I don’t like the new lines.  As a matter of fact there are several lines I would love to get my hands on but most of the time I pick one or two pieces that are my favorite, that will go with something I already have.  If you sew at all you know how expensive a fabric habit can get.  Do you like sewing with premade – prematched fabric lines?  or do you mix and match?

The blue green fabric second to last in the photo is a Denise Schimdt fabric, the red is Robert Kaufman and the green print in the back  is Stonehill Collection from Joanns.  I’ve had the yellow fabric for probably a year.   I have used it several times in different projects.  The blue is from Joanns as well and I have had it a while too.

I just love how these little stars are so crisp and bright.

I think this green and red one is my fave!  I love love love the green print!

These are made using HST (half square triangles)  Very easy and simple.

Sorry about the lighting on this last one.  For some reason my camera’s flash didn’t want to work.  I am thinking sashing in between the blocks but can’t decide if I will do the usual white or maybe pick a bold / primary color or maybe even add a different color around each one.  Hmm something to think about.  Did I mention I LOVE the green fabric!  (hehehe) I have a few finished but will show them another day.

Happy Friday & have a great weekend!
